Social media is a great place to connect with people, learn more about the world — and share all of the weird, hilarious and embarrassing things that your mom has done that week.
And since celebrities are just like us — but with bigger social media followings — even they can’t resist showcasing some of the stranger things that their mothers have gotten up to. Remember, moms of the world: We only do it because we love you. (And because it’s guaranteed to get us plenty of likes.)
1. Chrissy Teigen and Her Mother’s Epic Sausage Saga
Obviously the funniest woman on Twitter would have an equally hilarious mother. The supermodel and cookbook author chronicled her attempts to make homemade sausage alongside her mother, Vilailuck, on Snapchat, in all of its hilarious, disgusting glory. After comparing her mother’s valiant attempt to an episode of Seinfeld, Teigen finally lost her patience when Vilailuck decided to hang the finished sausages from her daughter’s kitchen lights overnight.
“Mom I swear to God, I’m gonna f—— kill you. Why is there sausage on my lights?!” said Teigen, alternating between laughter and rage throughout the process.
Oh, and did we mention that the sausage saga continued into the next day, when Vilailuck’s attempts to smoke her prized links almost burned the house down?

May Teigen and her mother always chronicle their culinary adventures — both successful and sitcom-worthy — on social media.

2. When Reese Witherspoon’s Mom Tried to Get the Inside Scoop
What’s the point of having an Oscar-winning daughter if she’s not going to help you win your Oscar pool? At least that’s what Witherspoon’s mother, Betty, was thinking when she texted the Big Little Lies star in 2016, asking for help in making her final picks.
“Reese, I need to know who will win best picture and best actress?,” her mother wrote. “Oscar party and I want to win money!” Unfortunately for Betty, Witherspoon was unable to help, captioning the photo “Anyone know?” along with a series of crying laughing emojis.
3. Aziz Ansari’s Mom Doesn’t Get Drake
It’s a well-documented fact that Drake loves moms — but it turns out that not all moms love Drake. After Ansari’s mother complained that he didn’t text her enough, the comedian came up with the ingenious plan to text her Drake gifs to make up for it. She was … less than impressed.
(Sorry, Drake. We still love you, if it’s any consolation.)
4. Tina Lawson Reveals that Even She is Inspired By Beyoncé …Just because you gave birth to the Queen Bey herself, that doesn’t mean that you can’t also look up to her. Case in point: Tina Lawson, who revealed on Instagram that her trainer texts her pictures of Beyoncé to discourage her from eating tacos.
Not going to lie, getting a picture of Beyoncé every morning would keep us inspired to be our best selves, too.
5. … and Channels Her Famous Daughters For a Photo Shoot
What do you do when your daughters release two of the most iconic, record-breaking, critically-acclaimed albums of the year? You bust out your accessories and show everyone just how proud of them you are!
Well, there’s our Halloween costume for next year, sorted. We’re going to be Miss Tina dressed as Beyoncé.
6. Mandy Moore’s Mom Isn’t a Fan of Her This Is Us Character
Yes, even Moore’s parents were obsessed with the tear-jerking juggernaut of the year, but while most of us were still sobbing into our couch cushions, the star’s mother had a few suggestions for how Rebecca could sort out her life …
Mother knows best — even when she’s mothering a TV character.
7. When the Kardashians’ Wine Tasting Got a Little Too Turnt
There are many benefits to going on a wine tasting with your mother, but perhaps none of them fill you (and your followers) with as much joy as getting to post videos of your tipsy mom on social media. Right, Khloé?
Squad goals, indeed. It is truly our greatest dream in life to go wine tasting with Kris Jenner. Thank you, Khloé and Kourtney, for making that dream come true in this tiny way.
Taylor Swift sent her well wishes after a fan invited the star to her graduation party.
“I INVITED TAYLOR TO MY GRADUATION PARTY AND SHE SENT ME FLOWERS AND THIS CARD I LOVE YOU HONEY @taylorswift13,” the fan — who has seen Swift in concert eight times — tweeted on Saturday, along with photos of the flowers and hand-written note by the singer.
The 27-year-old singer’s message was personally addressed, starting off, “Ashley, Hi love! I’m so sad that I can’t make it to your graduation party! The New York theme, the photo booth, it being on the 13th…that’s my kinda party.”
She applauded the graduate, continuing, “I’m so proud of you, your hard work and dedication, your excitement and ambition. I’m very lucky that a girl like you cares about me.”
The sweet card also included an illustration of the New York skyline with a stick figure labelled, “You!” The card concluded, “Sending you my love and hugs (and to your family!). Love, Taylor.”

This is not the first time Swift has expressed above-and-beyond love for her fans.

Longtime Swift fan Max Singer got the surprise of his life when the singer “crashed” his 2016 wedding to treat him and his new wife, Kenya Smith, to a stripped-down performance of “Blank Space.” Singer’s sister, Ali, had reached out to Swift to tell her about the death of the siblings’ mother, and how Singer and Smith had wed in the hospital so that she could be there for her son’s big day – and how they danced to “Blank Space” as their mother-son dance. If her surprise performance wasn’t sweet enough, Swift also gifted the newlyweds with a handmade, hand-painted card.
The note follows Swift’s noticeably quieter public presence.
“Taylor made the conscious choice to disappear,” a source said. “She was feeling overexposed and like things were almost spiraling out of control. She’s being low-key and secretive because it makes her happy.”
The “Shake It Off” singer — who wrote Little Big Town’s “Better Man” last year and released her hit song “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” (with Zayn Malik) for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack in January — is also back to work on new music and “is very excited about her new album,” added the source. “She can’t wait to share with her fans later this year.”
Former Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross has made it to the semi-finals of Dancing with the Stars. But if the 40-year-old father of three is going to make it to the upcoming finals, he’s going to have to pass a very specific challenge from judge (and former pro) Julianne Hough.
In an exclusive preview of Monday’s all-new episode, Hough surprises Ross and his partner Lindsay Arnold at their rehearsal studio with her unique test — built to fix a long-standing criticism she’s thrown Ross’ way throughout the competition.
“David Ross, this is my challenge for you. You better keep that booty under,” the 28-year-old says.
She then presents him with a bag of lemons — picking one out for him to place somewhere special.
“When I was in ballet class, my teacher used to say ‘Squeeze your lemons’ ” she explains. “And we’re making lemonade out of lemons!”
Just where does Hough want Ross to put the lemon? He has an idea.
“In my butt cheeks?” he asks her, to the laughs of both Hough and Arnold.

Of course, being in it to win it, Ross accepts the challenge — dancing around the rehearsal room and promising, “my butt’s staying under no matter what.”
Hough looks pleased. “I really believe in you and I really believe you guys can make the final. You can go all the way, you just have to continue doing exactly what you’re doing,” she tells him.
“If you can get that butt under, I really believe you’re going to make it to the end. So don’t let me down!” she adds.
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
“But you aren’t going to let other people tell you what you believe, especially when you know that you’re right,” Trump said to the crowd in his speech, which clocked in around nine minutes.
Trump also told the graduates of the Christian university to “embrace the label” of being an outsider, adding not to “swim downstream so easily with the current.”
His speech came after a series of tweets Friday morning that appeared to threaten former FBI Director James Comey, who he fired on Tuesday amid ongoing investigation into his campaign’s ties to Russia.
“James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!” the president tweeted, appearing to reference a New York Times report in which two anonymous sources described a January dinner between Trump and Comey, during which, the sources said, Trump asked for Comey’s loyalty. Comey declined, the sources told the Times, and said that he could only offer Trump his “honesty.”

On Tuesday, the White House announced Comey was fired as Trump’s decision came at the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, who laid out the case for axing Comey in a memo that detailed his mishandling of the investigation into Clinton’s private email server.

But in a new interview just two days after Comey’s bombshell dismissal, Trump now said that he was planning to fire Comey even before he received the recommendations from his top Justice Department officials, a seeming contradiction to information released by his own administration.
“He’s a showboat, he’s grandstander, the FBI has been in turmoil,” Trump told NBC News’ Lester Holt in an interview that aired Thursday. “You know that, I know that. Everybody knows that. You take a look at the FBI a year ago, it was in virtual turmoil, less than a year ago. It hasn’t recovered from that.”
In October, Comey had shocked Washington when he announced that the FBI had reopened its investigation of Clinton’s private email server. Then, two days before Election Day in November, the FBI declared it ultimately found no new evidence against Clinton.
“So proud of my little girl! ❤ (instead of not posting my kids for the people who respect and appreciate their photos , I will turn off the comments section. I don’t need a——- telling me how to raise my child and judge them. I’m a d— good mom and know what I’m doing. Well most of the time.) Happy Mother’s Day to all you kick ass Mamas out there! ❤ ” the Jersey Shore alum captioned her pre-Mother’s Day post with her tutu-clad mini-me on Instagram.
“Big day for this Mama Bear. Both my kids are now officially in school,” Polizzi, 29, wrote to accompany the moment. “I’m feeling such a range of emotions from sad to excited to feeling so proud of my nuggets.”
“They’re pretty awesome human beings & bring so much joy and love into my life! PROUD MAMA today and everyday!” she added, tagging her husband, Jionni LaValle, and requesting they try day dates.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s four-part season 9 reunion may have been one for the books, but if the social media sass from Kim Zolciak-Biermann is anything to go by, the upcoming season of the hit Bravo show will be even more drama-filled.
Zolciak-Bierman fired back at RHOA castmate Kenya Moore on Instagram on Saturday after Moore shaded the reality star during a radio interview earlier this week.
“Kim needs a check so Kim will be back,” Moore said in a video clip Zolciak-Biermann reposted on Instagram, which discussed the “Tardy for the Party” singer’s rumored return for season 10.
And the diss was not something that Zolciak-Biermann was going to let slide.
“Hmm this s— is funny!!” the Bravo star wrote alongside a video clip of Moore’s interview. “6 season in on Don’t Be Tardy, multi million dollar skincare line in less then 6 months @kashmerekollections meanwhile you sell your hair care products out of the trunk of your car and paying Sally’s beauty supply to do an appearances there AND you are spending what you do have on your 3rd paid boyfriend.”
“Sweetie don’t try and come for me so you can have a story line for next season. Thx to all my supportive followers for keepin me in the loop! #Repost @realhousewivesatlanta #KimAndNene #Original,” Zolciak-Biermann concluded.
The mother of six had abruptly left the show during the fifth season, but she returned to the hit Bravo show in April, where she had a night out at Sherée Whitfield‘s Chateau Sherée housewarming party — and quickly butted heads with Moore.

Despite her rant against Moore, it is still unclear if Zolciak-Biermann will actually be returning to the show full-time.
Filming for the Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s landmark 10th season is expected to begin in Georgia soon.
The show just couldn’t go on for Olivia Newton-John this week, as the star apologized to fans for canceling upcoming concerts due to a sciatica flare up.
“We are so sorry to announce that the Olivia concerts scheduled for May will be postponed due to a bad issue with Olivia’s sciatica,” read a statement posted to the Grease star’s official Facebook page.
Newton-John, 68, is currently in the middle of touring her new inspirational album LIV ON, for which she partnered with friends Beth Nielson Chapman and Amy Sky for a collection of songs about overcoming trauma, like her own bout with breast cancer in 1992 and the devastating loss of her only sister Rona to brain cancer in 2013.
Sciatica is intense pain to the lower back and legs caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve. A rep for Newton-John tells PEOPLE the star is currently “resting and going through treatment.”
In the wake of her mom’s health issue, Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi took to Instagram with an update and words of encouragement.
“Hey everyone. I just wanted to let u know my mom is ok for those that have enquired . She’s a fighter. Always has been. Thank u for your love and concern. I’m passing your love onto her.”
The star is likely in good hands as she recuperates. Married to businessman and natural healer John Easterling since 2008, she credits the entrepreneur for her new lease on life. “I wake up every day grateful,” she told PEOPLE earlier this year. “Especially when you get older, every day becomes more precious.”
On Saturday, Newton-John shared a message with fans.
“I was so sad to have to postpone some shows this month, and to my fans who planned on coming to my concerts please know I am disappointed too! We are rescheduling as soon as possible,” she wrote.
“I have had a long running issue with sciatica and I need to take this time to rest and deal with this very painful condition.
“My husband John is taking great care of me and I want to thank all my family, friends and fans for their concern, love, support and good wishes,” she continued. “I look forward to returning to performing soon!”
He’s already one half of the country music duo Dan + Shay. But on Saturday, Dan Smyers officially joined another duo — marrying longtime love Abby Law!
The couple, who got engaged in November on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii after three and a half years of dating, tied the knot as the sun set in Nashville, their rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
Among their wedding party were three very special members of the couple’s four-legged family — dogs Chief, Joy, and foster-turned-adoptee Ghost, dressed in tuxes and a coordinating dress.
“They are the most important bridesmaid and groomsmen,” Smyers joked to PEOPLE while exclusively debuting his and Law’s engagement photos in March.
The 29-year-old singer was busy leading up to the big day, traveling the country on his band’s biggest headlining tour to date. That left much of the wedding planning to Law, who also gave PEOPLE a preview of what to expect.
“We were going to try and keep it super small, but we have so many people that we love and care about and we both have decent-sized families,” she said. “The numbers add up really quickly, but it’ll be great.”
“The wedding is going to be very representative of the both of us,” added Smyers. “We’re both vegetarians so there’s going to be a lot of vegetarian and vegan food options, and our dogs are going to be in the wedding so it’s going to be very us and laid-back.”
Holding the ceremony in the city they call home was special for the couple, who called it their “favorite place in the world.”
“It’ll be awesome to have all of our friends and family together in Nashville — a lot of them have never been here,” Smyers said. “We built our love story in Nashville and it’ll be cool to get everybody there to see where it all began for us.”
“It’ll be nice to make it official. Everybody’s story is different, everybody’s timeline is different but by the time we got engaged, we were so familiar with each other that there wasn’t anything foreign or scary.”
Law shared the same sentiment: “We’re very much looking forward to being husband and wife because our life has been really wonderful together.”

With Smyers’ wedding now behind him, the pressure is on bandmate Shay Mooney and his fiancée Hannah Billingsley — though they’ve got their hands full at the moment. The pair welcomed their son, Asher James, in late January.
“We’re thinking fall for a wedding, but we’re still getting our plans together,” Mooney told PEOPLE in March. “I’m letting Hannah take care of most of that. We’re getting the details taken care of, but our main focus is Asher right now.”
