DeMario Jackson Breaks Down Discussing BiP Sex Scandal As He Tearfully Admits His Mom Went to 'War' Defending Him

DeMario Jackson is opening up about the sex scandal that caused a major media frenzy.

On Tuesday’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise, the reality star sat down with Chris Harrison to discuss how the scandal affected him, his family, and his life – both personally and professionally.

“It was difficult because I  know who I am,” Jackson told the longtime host. “I know I’m not that monster that they’re trying to portray on TV. Like Michelle Obama said, ‘When they go low, you go high.’ It was hard to go high. I had to do it because I train and mentor children and I can’t tell them to be something that I’m not. That’s what kept me going – and great family, friends, school teachers, people at the gym … it was just crazy to see the response from them. My castmates – Alexis, Raven, I think I FaceTimed Taylor every single day. There was so much love. I was extremely humbled.”

In June, production on season 4 was temporarily suspended after two show producers voiced their concerns after a sexual encounter between Corinne Olympios and Jackson was caught on cameras.

Olympios and Jackson both subsequently retained legal counsel and released statements in the days following the production shut down by Warner Bros. to investigate the “misconduct” and all of the contestants were sent home.

“I am a victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened on June 4. Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production,” Olympios said in a statement to PEOPLE via her rep.

Jackson said in his own statement: “It’s unfortunate that my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations. I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared and, per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws.”

While Jackson dealt with his own issues, the scandal had his friends and family in turmoil as well.

“I love my Mom more than anything in this world and seeing her cry every single day, it was difficult,” he said. “I’m her everything – best friends. It was difficult. I had to make her deactivate everything. She was going to war defending me. It sucked.”

The contestant previously told Entertainment Tonight that he’s “been through hell” since Warner Bros. halted production and conducted an internal investigation, which was later cleared after they deemed nothing improper had occurred. Jackson now feels he’s finally been “vindicated” after the BiP premiere aired.

“I feel like they rolled enough of the tape,” Jackson told ET. “You can’t show too much, because that’s gonna disrespect Corinne and I, and I just feel like it wouldn’t be the best or the classiest thing to do. But, they showed enough.”

He added: “The public, they need to see something. I think they just needed to see she’s lucid. I’m lucid. We’re swimming around. We’re having fun. We’re friends. It wasn’t like I’m some predator who was at the bar waiting for the girl to get extremely drunk, then I’m like, ‘Oops! Let me pounce on her.’ No, it was very mutual and, in fact, she was a little bit of the aggressor in it, and I love how they painted the picture and the story of us actually talking, mingling, getting to know each other.”

Though Jackson hasn’t had the chance to speak to Olympios since production was suspended, he admitted he felt for her.

“I wish we could’ve spoke,” he said. “I felt bad for her because slut-shamed. I love my mother and the women in my family more than anything in this world and it just hurt me just knowing that she was probably going through the same thing that I was, but a little bit more aggressive and intense. I wanted to reach out and just be like look I’m here if you want to chat.’”

And while Jackson took an emotional hit, he seems to be putting the scandal behind him.

“I’m still going to be me,” said Jackson. “I’m working very hard on just building back up my spirits. This summer took a lot out of me. I’m not going to let this get me down. I’m never going to stoop down and I’m never going to be something they want me to be. I’m going to be who I am and that’s my whistleblowing, crazy, fun-loving self.”

Bachelor in Paradise airs Mondays and Tuesdays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.

Mel B Walks Off AGT Stage After Simon Cowell Makes Insensitive Joke About Her Wedding Night

Melanie “Mel B” Brown stormed off the America’s Got Talent stage Tuesday night after fellow judge Simon Cowell made a crude joke about her wedding night.

The incident comes as the former Spice Girl is in the middle of a divorce from estranged husband Stephen Belafonte.

Cowell, 57, made a poorly timed jibe after a magician suffered a technical malfunction during his performance.

“I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B’s wedding night,” Cowell said. “A lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery.”

Brown did not appreciate the comment and proceeded to fling her glass of water at Cowell before walking out of the studio live on air.

“Mel B is out,” host Tyra Banks commented. “This is live TV, y’all. Live TV.”

PEOPLE confirmed in July that Brown was previously ordered to pay Belafonte $40,000 per month in temporary spousal support.

The singer filed for divorce in March after nearly 10 years of marriage and asked for joint legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Madison. She also requested to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support in her filing.

Julianne Hough & Brooks Laich Make First Post-Wedding Appearance: 'Marriage Is Amazing!'

Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich made their first public appearance as husband and wife!

The newlyweds showed their support for Hough’s best friend, Nina Dobrev, at her Harper’s Bazaar cover party (sponsored by Sephora) at Rosaline in West Hollywood on Tuesday evening.

Hough was dressed in a long sleeve Jenny Packham ensemble which she accessorized with a “Universal Love” clutch by Sarah Beydoun as well as Stuart Weitzman heels and Neil Lane jewelry.

“Having taken time off to do the tour, get married and go on the honeymoon, I’m ready to be back in the swing of things and get back to work,” the Dancing with the Stars judge, 29, told PEOPLE about her “amazing” life post-wedding.

On July 8, Hough and Laich, 34, tied the knot during a romantic, outdoor wedding on Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. “It definitely feels different being married. People have always said that and I didn’t understand it but now I feel more whole,” Hough admitted.

And after the wedding, the pair honeymooned in the same spot as Will and Kate, and George and Amal Clooney.

“Yeah, beach and bush is what they call it. Seychelles was incredible to decompress. It was nice to be able to chill and relax,” Hough shared.

“It was phenomenal. I fell in love with Africa last year when I did Bear Grylls and Brooks came with me for that. It’s just magical,” the actress explained about the second leg of their honeymoon. “There’s nothing like it. They always say ‘Did you get bit by the Africa bug?’ So we don’t know how we’re going to travel anywhere else. We’re just always planning our next trip to Africa!”

As for her favorite part of being married? “Just being able to call him husband is so fun. It was actually when we got our marriage certificate. It was like ‘How are you doing, husband?’ It was fun,” Hough said.

And for anyone looking for wedding advice, Mrs. Laich is your go-to!

“I had such a blast planning . I’ve told all my friends if you need help let me know! It was just so much fun,” she revealed. “I keep getting little videos from our videographer and it just takes me right back.”

Melania Trump Thanks Chelsea Clinton for Defending 11-Year-Old Son Barron: ‘Stop Childhood Bullying’

Melania Trump and Chelsea Clinton agree on one thing: Barron Trump deserves better.

“Thank you @ChelseaClinton – so important to support all of our children in being themselves! #StopChildhoodBullying,” the First Lady of the United States tweeted after the former First Daughter once again stood up for the 11-year-old.

It all started when Bill and Hillary Clinton’s daughter responded to a now-deleted tweet writing, “Dear Matty-Barron is A KID. No child should be talked about in the below manner-in real life or online. And for an adult to do so? For shame.”

The latest tweet is the second time in one week Clinton has defended President Donald Trump‘s youngest child.

“It’s high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves,” the mother of two responded in a tweet on Monday.

Just days after Trump’s inauguration in January, Clinton came to Barron’s defense after people made jokes about him on Twitter. “Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid,” Clinton tweeted at the time.

Poppin’! Jamie-Lynn Sigler Embraces Her Baby Bump While On Vacation With Husband and Son

Jamie-Lynn Sigler is baring her bump.

The former Sopranos actress, 36, showed her growing baby bump while on vacation with her husband Cutter Dykstra, 28, and their 3-year-old son Beau Kyle.

“Hi. We live here now,” Sigler captioned a photo Tuesday of her growing family beside a pool.

She took to Twitter that same day to share a photo of herself with an arm around her bump in the bathroom, writing “Poppin’ ” in the caption.

Sigler and Cutter announced they were expecting their second child together in July, with Sigler posting a photo on Instagram of five pregnancy tests that all read “Pregnant.”

“This is the actual pic I sent my husband this past Mother’s Day while lying on the bathroom floor. I had just returned from Israel, was jet lagged, and didn’t believe my eyes. So had to obviously be @Clearblue 5x over sure. We are SO excited to announce the #ClearblueConfirmed arrival of another little one in just a few short months,” the mother-to-be wrote.

In late July, the couple’s son helped reveal that they were expecting another boy in an adorable video they posted to Instagram.

Amber Rose Inks Over Tattoo of Ex Wiz Khalifa With Another Man’s Face

Amber Rose cannot exactly wash that man right out of her hair, but she can tattoo him right off her arm.

The mother of one has officially moved from ex Wiz Khalifa, with Rose opting to cover up a tattoo of the rapper’s face.

Where Khalifa’s ink portrait once featured on the 33-year-old’s arm is now a tattoo of what appears to be rocker Slash.

Rose showed off her fresh ink on Friday as she stopped by the Sugar Factory American Brassiere at in Miami Beach, Florida.

The model turned activist appears to have updated her ink August 10.

Since her split from her ex-husband in 2014, Rose has been covering his face with pictures of roses. In February, the 33-year-old debuted a tattoo of the Hollywood sign on her forearm.

That tattoo came on the heels of her break-up with Dancing With the StarsVal Chmerkovskiy.

Rose is never afraid to try out new things on her body, and most notably revealed in late July that she was “thinking about getting a breast reduction this year.”

Alongside a photo of herself at R & B singer Paloma Ford’s birthday party at the Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood, California, Rose revealed on Instagram that she is considering the procedure because “my boobs are stupid heavy, my back hurts and I can’t wear cute lil shirts without a grandma bra .”

“I’m really scared of the lollipop scars tho…. any advice? ” she added. “Are there any ladies out there that are much happier even though you have breast reduction scars?”

She added that scarring was a major concern because she doesn’t have breast implants, so a reduction procedure would be different.
